Premier League title contenders Chelsea and Liverpool are already looking ahead to next season.

Both clubs are competing with Manchester City and are hoping that Pep Guardiola's team slip up at some point this season, but that is not stopping Reds manager Jürgen Klopp and Blues boss Maurizio Sarri from having their sights set on one of Europe's rising stars.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea and Liverpool are ready to do battle over the signing of Borussia Dortmund ace Christian Pulisic.

However, the German club will only be willing to sanction a £70m deal for the 20-year-old USA international so long as he stays in Germany until the summer.

Dortmund boss Lucien Favre has had a brilliant start to the season and the club sits at the top of the Bundesliga after 12 matches, so losing Pulisic in January could disrupt his side's momentum and title challenge.

Earlier this month, the Dortmund star spoke about the speculation linking him with a move away from the Westfalenstadion.

"I'm not constantly checking articles, what people are saying on Twitter," he said (via the Daily Telegraph). "I am not looking at any of that stuff. I am focused on what I need to do.

"When I come to camp, I do the same things and focus myself here, so it is not difficult for me to not really worry about the outside noise."

Of course, Pulisic is not the only youngster making a name for himself in Favre's side. The highly rated Jadon Sancho has also had a major impact in the league this season, with Pulisic praising his fellow teammate.

"The sky is the limit for a guy like him," he explained. "You can see how much talent and how much skill he has. I went through the exact same things as him.

"Whenever he is going through a tough time he knows I have been through situations like that. He knows to talk to me. I am there and I can talk to him. It's a cool relationship that we have."

Should Pulisic move to Chelsea or Liverpool?
