After comfortably securing their Premier League status for another following what could be a top-half finish for Bournemouth depending on final day results, the Cherries are planning to make two big additions to the side in the summer.

The Guardian reports that Eddie Howe wants to sign two Chelsea players as he hopes to build on the highest Premier League finish in the club's.

For starters, Bournemouth want to sign Nathan Ake permanently following his impressive loan spell in the season.

The Dutchman was recalled by Chelsea following a series of strong displays at the Vitality Stadium, but the versatile defender only featured on five occasions for Antonio Conte's Premier League winner, though he did step in and deputise for Gary Cahill in the FA Cup semi-final victory over Spurs last month.

It's noted that Bournemouth tried to sign Ake permanently in January, but Chelsea were reluctant sell.

Things could but different in the summer, though, after Ake made just one Premier League start following his return to Stamford Bridge mid-season.

There's talk that Bournemouth will make a bid of around £20m when the transfer window opens, while they are also keen on Chelsea's second-choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The Bosnian, like Ake, has struggled for regular game-time at Chelsea and only just scraped a Premier League winners medal.

Begovic, who has made just two Premier League appearances this season having played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois, was courted by Bournemouth in January and there's optimism that they could land him in the summer for around £12 million.

Bournemouth are already showing plenty of ambition in the transfer market, while they are also been linked with the likes of John Terry and Jermain Defoe.

It could be an exciting summer at the Vitality Stadium...
