Paul Scholes has named his best Manchester United XI he played alongside, and it naturally makes for an incredible side.

The midfield maestro enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Old Trafford, playing over 700 games for United, winning the bloody lot.

We're talking Premier League and FA Cup titles, not to mention European glory in the shape of two Champions League triumphs.

And he's played with some unreal talent between 1993 to 2013.

From Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand to Roy Keane and Cristiano Ronaldo, among many, many others.

The aforementioned stars have all been named in Scholes' best XI he's played with at United:

Anyway, Scholes has admitted the current United team isn't up their with quality in comparison to Manchester City and Liverpool, referencing Jurgen Klopp's transfer window which saw the likes of Alisson and Fabinho arrive at Anfield.

"When you look at Manchester City, possibly Liverpool, I don't think they [United] have the quality of those two teams at the minute," he said.

Scholes added: "Liverpool have made some really good signings. United finished above them last season.

"I just don't see United getting closer to City. City are a really good side, great manager, some great players, a way of playing that they all know about and Manchester United seem to be not too sure what's going on.

"You don't really know the team, you don't really know the players, you don't know how they're going to perform from one week to the next. So I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see them challenging for the league this year."

United, meanwhile, opened their Premier League campaign by beating Leicester City 2-1.

Jose Mourinho takes his charges to the South-coast on Sunday to face Brighton.

Where will United finish in the league?
