The first round of games features some spicy fixtures including Liverpool vs. Paris Saint-Germain.

And ahead of last season's finalists taking on one of the competitions favourites, we've asked our Instagram followers to pick a combined XI.

A Liverpool/PSG combined XI features the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Alisson, among many others.

Not much love for Liverpool's feared attacking trident.

PSG's terrifying front line gets the nod over Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

In midfield, Angel Di Maria, Naby Keita and Marquinhos who is set to play in defensive midfield tonight with Marco Verratti suspended.

Whilst Liverpool's forwards don't make the cut, they dominate the defensive back line.

From Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson between the sticks. PSG's sole representative in defence is 23-year-old central defender Presnel Kimpembe.

L'Equipe also picked their combined XI.

The French outlet selected their side based on form which means there's no space for Mohamed Salah and Neymar, with Mane inserted following his blistering start to the new season.

He's already weighed in with four Premier League goals.
