Barcelona are preparing for life without Luis Suárez after it has emerged that the Spanish club have identified six players who could potentially fill the boots of the number nine at the Camp Nou.

The 32-year-old Uruguayan striker made 49 appearances for the club across all competitions this season, scoring 25 times and assisting on 13 occasions.

However, the ex-Liverpool star was criticised for missing out on his side's Copa del Rey defeat to Valencia after undergoing a knee operation before the season was out.

Well, following on from their Copa del Rey defeat and humiliating Champions League semi-final exit, the La Liga champions are ready to overhaul their squad and bolster their attacking options.

According to Sport, the club believes that securing an alternative to Suárez is essential and are weighing up their options.

One of their options is Timo Werner, who has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

The RB Leipzig striker has made 37 appearances across all competitions this season and has scored 19 times and assisted ten times.

The Spanish newspaper added that Arsenal duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are also on Barcelona's radar, with the Gunners stars both in fine form for their club.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jović, who has been linked with Real Madrid, has also been a Barcelona target in the past and it would seem that the club could rekindle their interest in the summer.

Lille's Nicolas Pépé has been linked with several Premier League clubs, from Arsenal to Liverpool, and Sport reports that Barcelona have also shortlisted him.

Finally, they could also turn their attention to Krzysztof Piątek, who put Serie A on notice this season and finished as the top scorer for both AC Milan and Genoa.

Outside of the six-man shortlist, Antoine Griezmann has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer after revealing that he would leave Atlético Madrid at the end of the season.
