Lionel Messi hit the post three times on Sunday, and the Barcelona fans have a theory about him hitting the woodwork against Deportivo La Coruna.

The La Liga leaders maintained their scintillating form in the league following their 4-0 victory at the Camp Nou. A brace-a-piece courtesy of Luis Suarez and Paulinho ensured all three points.

Barcelona recorded their 13th league win, while tallying up 42 points on the board in the process.

They've stretched their lead over defending champions Real Madrid by 11 points ahead of the El Clasico meeting on Saturday.

And the Barcelona faithfuls think Messi rattled the post on purpose in order to break Gerd Muller's long standing record against their fierce rivals, and on their own patch, the Santiago Bernabeu.

Really, Lionel?! What's your take? Let us know.
