Arsenal's Away Record In 2018 Is Utterly Dreadful

Arsenal's Away Record In 2018 Is Utterly Dreadful

It's genuinely a joke...

Arsenal's 2-1 defeat away at Newcastle means the Gunners are still yet to accrue a Premier League point away from home in 2018.

The Gunners went 1-0 through top scorer Alexandre Lacazette 14 minutes in but goals from Ayoze Perez and Matt Richie leaves them just two points ahead of seven-placed Burnley after more away day misery.

Incredibly, out of all of the teams in the four tiers, as well as National League, Arsene Wenger's side are the only team yet to claim a point away from home.

Arsenal have struggled on the road all season, but it's gone to a whole new low since the turn of the year.

Bournemouth, Swansea, Tottenham, Brighton and now Newcastle have all inflicted losses on them and it feels like an absolute age since they came away with something in an away trip.

It's an embarrassingly bad run of away form. Arsenal now need to win the Europa League to avoid experiencing one of their worst ever campaigns, but after drawing Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals, even that looks a tough task.
