An Arsenal star turned down the opportunity to work with Gunners legend Thierry Henry at Monaco.

The 41-year-old Frenchman inherited a struggling side and is doing everything in his power to save the club from relegation.

According to Le 10 Sport, Laurent Koscielny was approached about the possibility of leaving the Gunners.

However, the 33-year-old centre-back snubbed the offer and has opted to stay with the London club.

Henry has entered the January transfer window to strengthen his fragile squad.

The former Belgium assistant coach has brought in the experienced Naldo from Schalke and is continuing his overhaul with the acquisition of Cesc Fàbregas.

Henry has already turned his attention to Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi, who has returned to Stamford Bridge from his loan spell at Valencia.

"Michy? I know him, we rubbed shoulders with Belgium, he is a player who can be interesting," he said (via Sky Sports).

"But again, nothing is done. You have to be patient. It's important that players know the championship, though."

Monaco are 19th in Ligue 1 after 18 matches, only two points clear of bottom-place Guingamp and three points behind 18th-place Dijon FCO.
