Incredible stuff.

When such a dramatic, emotional moment occurs in football, you need that iconic piece of commentary to well and truly capture it. It would be fair to say that Pablo Giralt did exactly that when he described Marcos Rojo's late winner to book Argentina's place in the last 16 of the World Cup.

Lionel Messi opened his 2018 World Cup account in stunning fashion for the opener, superbly controlling Ever Banega's long pass with two glorious touches and then slotting home with his right.

Nigeria pegged back on level terms when Victor Moses coolly converted a penalty after Javier Mascherano was guilty of shirt-pulling and wrestling in his box from a corner, just after half-time.

But then the most unlikely of heroes stepped up the plate, Rojo trudging up from the back to superbly volley home a winner four minutes from time and send Argentina into pandamonium.

Giralt, sat in the press box with a mic in hand, epitomised what it meant for all associated to La Albiceleste. He absolutely lost his shit on the bench - showing endless passion as the all important goal went in for Jorge Sampaoli's side. The video has blew up big time on social media, garnering nearly 100,000 likes at the time of writing.

Another man who definitely enjoyed the winner a bit too much was Diego Maradona, who promptly went all Stone Cold Steve Austin on Nigeria fans in the stands.

The 57-year old was absolutely off his nut after the game and worrying footage showed him having to be carried inside his box, before paramedics attended to.

'El Diego' issued a statement to his fans early today and eased worries about his health:
