Strasbourg winger Anthony Goncalves has shown little sympathy towards PSG star man Neymar after he was forced off the pitch due to a recurring metatarsal injury during a Coupe de France clash between the two teams.

PSG won the match 2-0, however the Brazilian limped off in tears after sustaining an injury to his foot. During the match, the silky winger was subject to what many deemed as aggressive play.

He was fouled three times in quick succession by Strasbourg midfielder Moataz Zemzemi. Neymar responded in the most Neymar way possible by flicking the ball over Zemzemi's head - and almost scored from the piece of skill.

Sadly for PSG fans (but not United fans), it looks likely that Neymar will be out of their Champions League clash with Manchester United next month.

However, Goncalves showed little remorse for his attacking counterpart.

After the match, he said: "It's Neymar's style, but don't come and complain when you get kicked.

"He's a great player, and I respect the player he is, but we're not here so he has fun at our expense. If he wants to have fun, we'll respond with the weapons we have. We have a jersey to defend. We're not here for a laugh.

"He can enjoy himself but don't come blubbering afterwards."

This recent injury has similarities to last season, where the PSG number 10 missed the rest of the season; including a crucial Champions League second-leg against Real Madrid.

Thomas Tuchel questioned the referee's protection towards Neymar before he was injured.

"Neymar is worried, because it's the same foot, the right foot, in the same area," he said.

"I need to wait for the doctor to give me news. It's always complicated. The referee did not whistle after one tackle, then a second, then a third. After that, he has twisted his foot."

Can PSG see-off Manchester United in the next round of the Champions League - even without Neymar? Let us know in the comments.
