Cristiano Ronaldo visited Conor McGregor's lavish training base in Las Vegas last year and a very big promise was made.
'Notorious' was preparing for his rematch with Nate Diaz after his shock defeat at UFC 196, but as well all know the Irishman avenged his only loss inside the Octagon by eking out a decision victory in a thrilling fight.

He subsequently made UFC history by becoming the first fighter in the promotion to hold two UFC belts simultaneously.
The training clearly worked and perhaps a certain comment from Cristiano Ronaldo spurred him on to beat Nate.
As both of the biggest names in sport exchanged words, McGregor said: "You were number one on the Forbes list, I was like number 35 or something. I'll get up. Maybe next year I'll get you."

Ronaldo replied saying, "I don't think so."
Ronaldo, who was Forbes' number one with $93 million last year, is predicted to feature prominently in the upcoming list, but Conor McGregor thinks he will overtake the Real Madrid forward in the coming weeks.
After announcing his involvement in an advert with Burger King, the Irishman said the following about the promise:

"Making deals and TAKING deals! Kings recognise Kings! I am also really interested to see this years Forbes highest paid athletes list." he said on his official Instagram.
"I have now surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo as I told him I would in 2016. Floyd as a retired fighter that makes ZERO substantial revenue outside of them ropes is not on the list, and in the long game, is already dead.
"Mixed Martial Arts is a glorious game, Floyd. You are going to love it hahaha."
Will McGregor trump Ronaldo in the upcoming Forbes list?
