Man Utd provide Harry Maguire transfer 'clue' in new home kit launch

Harry Maguire could be on his way out.

Harry Maguire’s absence from Manchester United’s kit launch has led to speculation he may be on the cusp of a transfer.

United have joined forced with Adidas once more to unveil their home kit for the 2023/24 season.

The red jersey includes black details across the shoulders and a red, white and black striped flat-knit crew neck collar.

Moreover, the design pays homage to the city’s county, Lancashire, by including a geometric design of the red rose of Lancaster, while the kit also draws inspiration from the bridge over the River Irwell, which connects Manchester and Salford.

Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez were the contingent of men’s players selected to model the kit on the club’s website.

Conspicuously however, Harry Maguire did not feature, amid speculation the club captain could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.

Harry Maguire to leave Man Utd?

Maguire did not feature as part of the United kit launch on the club’s official website.

He did however, post a picture of himself in the new jersey on his social media feeds, with the caption “new season = new shirt”. Maguire has also been included as a pre-loaded print option on the club’s website.

According to the Mail Online Maguire is among 13 players United are open to selling, as the club look to raise as much as £100million from outgoings.

The 30-year-old made just eight Premier League starts last season after slipping down the pecking order of centre-backs under Erik ten Hag.

The England international, who cost some £80million from Leicester back in 2019, will reportedly be allowed to leave if a £40million offer comes in.

The same Mail Online report added that Maguire is not being forced out of Old Trafford and United are happy to let him stay and fight for his place.
