Fans stunned after only just finding out Kylian Mbappe's real name as his old FIFA card goes viral

Paris Saint-Germain and France star Kylian Mbappe went by a different name earlier on his career.

Fans have had their minds blown after only just discovering Kylian Mbappe's real name.

The Paris Saint-Germain and France star is one of the biggest stars in all of sports and has scored five goals in two World Cup final appearances.

With over 300 career goals to his name at the age of 25, Mbappe is a household name these days and has been tipped to win the Ballon d'Or in the future.

But the forward went by a different name at the start of his stint in the game and many fans might not even be aware of it.

Mbappe came through the ranks at Monaco and hit 26 goals in all competitions in a sensational 2016/17 season where Leonardo Jardim's side won Ligue One and reached the Champions League semi-finals.

Aged just 18, he truly announced himself to the world and secured a mega move to PSG as a result.

But initially he was actually going by 'Kylian Mbappe Lottin' - his official name.

Lottin is a surname which is common in Cameroon, where his dad Wilfried is originally from.

He had the name too but he and Mbappe's brother also removed 'Lottin' from their name.

Mbappe dropped it when he signed for PSG in 2017 and though the reason has never been revealed, it's certainly not done his market value any harm.

Still, plenty of people were surprised when the six-time Ligue One winner's old name resurfaced on social media.

A confused fan wrote: "They used to call him Lottin?"

A second joked: "This lottin guy lowkey looks like Mbappe."

A third asked: "How come he changed his name from Lottin to Mbappe?"

Another user said: "Is he supposed to be like Mbappe 2 or something? They’re actually identical."

A fifth added: "Sir, a second name has been found."
