While Real Madrid dropped more points at Levante, Sergio Ramos did bag a goal which put him in the La Liga record books.

The defending Spanish champions continue to falter in their league campaign. Zinedine Zidane's side remain 19 points behind Barcelona, and ten adrift of cross-town rivals, Atletico.

Though it started so well at the Estadi Ciutat de València.

Ramos opened the scoring in the 11th minute, though the hosts leveled thanks to Emmanuel Boateng. Isco then put the visitors in front before Giampaolo Pazzini equalised late on.

But Ramos' goal marked an unbelievable record.

He became the first defender to score in 14 straight La Liga seasons.

Incredible, Sergio.

Meanwhile, following the disappointing result, Ramos spoke in the mixed zone and expressed his frustration.

"Some of us were annoyed in the final stages as we did not know how to manage the result," Ramos said via ESPN.

The Real Madrid skipper added: "In general it annoys all of us, I do not want to say I am more annoyed than anyone else. When you do the most difficult, get back in front, you must use your experience, try to waste time, not let them play.

"[But then] they equalise with just a few minutes left, and you don't get the three points. In the Champions League one mistake can be fatal.

Real Madrid are back in action this weekend when they host Real Sociedad, before resuming the defence of their Champions League title with a tasty, tasty encounter against runaway French leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
