Peter Crouch's England career was one of the more underrated around but the man who was good with his feet for a big man played with some of England's biggest names. Now he's spilt the beans on the best trainer.

There's not that many people with as good a goalscoring record as Peter Crouch. Whether it was during his time in the Premier League or even playing for England the tall man always seemed to be good for a goal.

In 462 Premier League goals Crouch scored 108 goals in England's top tier, playing for Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Spurs and Stoke City and is currently number 23 on the all time scorers list, sandwiched between Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. Crouch is still playing but has dropped down to the Championship with Stoke.

As well as a very good career in club football the 37 year old also scored 22 goals for his country including games in World Cup qualification for 2010 and in the win over Trinidad and Tobago at the 2006 World Cup.

In an interview with the Anfield Wrap Crouch revealed who the best in training was during his time with the national team, saying:

"I've been very lucky to play with the likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale at Tottenham - and some top players with England like David Beckham and Wayne Rooney but Gerrard, for me, I just feel like he had everything.

"I remember playing against him when I was a kid at Spurs and he was at Liverpool in the youth team. In the first moment I saw him he smashed someone on the edge of the box, beat two men and crashed the hardest shot I've ever seen on to the crossbar. I thought... who's this fella?

"In England training he was by far the best player and that was with world-class players. He could play right-back and still be the best player. If you put all that together, for me, that's why one of the chapters [in Crouch's recent autobiography] is dedicated to him.

"He's the best player I played with and I say how to be a footballer, go and follow that."
