Manchester United and Bayern Munich re-lived their famous Champions League final of 1999 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon and Jaap Stam showed that not everything has changed in 20 years.

Exactly 20 years ago on Sunday Manchester United completed the 10 most successful days of any team in English football history as they captured the Premier League title, FA Cup and Champions League all in a week and a half.

To mark the occasion of the Champions League win, that dramatic injury time comeback in the Nou Camp, United Legends took on Bayern Munich Legends in the Treble Reunion match.

Whist the original match was a tense affair made famous by a last minute winner by substitute Ole Gunnar Solskjaer things were a bit different two decades on.

Solskjaer did get a goal as a substitute but it was after only four minutes, replacing Andy Cole instantly after kick off, but then United went on to rout their German opponents.

However not everything was different as Jaap Stam showed he's just the same defender he always was, leaving three Bayern players on the floor in a couple of seconds:

It wasn't even the only time the Dutchman proved that he was still playing like he did at his peak at Old Trafford, it was a friendly charity game but nothing is for Stam:

After the match Solskjaer, now the Manchester United who had to sit on the bench but allow Sir Alex Ferguson his current seat, hinted that he'd love Stam in defence now saying, "We could do with those two [Stam and Ronny Johnsen] at the back"

The Red Devils are in desperate need of a boost ahead of next season, after finishing sixth in the Premier League this season, and are targeting a centre back, amongst many other positions.

They have recently been linked to Ajax capt Matthijs de Ligt whilst a move for Kalidou Koulibaly has also been mooted.

Ideally for Solskjaer he'd invent time travel and bring 26 year old Jaap Stam back with him.
