Paul Scholes Summing Up His Best Goals Is Peak Scholes

The Manchester United legend scored some absolutely brilliant goals during his career but in typical Scholes fashion he's not too bothered.

No matter your stance on just how good Paul Scholes was compared to his contemporaries there's no doubt the man scored some absolutely amazing goals but watching him analyse them you'd have thought they were your bog standard tap in.

Paul Scholes, like Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, may never get away from the argument of who is better as Manchester United fans tell the world he's the greatest player ever and fans of other clubs say he was garbage and the truth is somewhere in the middle.

There's little doubting in reality that Scholes was quality and he was part of some pretty magnificent sides, winning the Champions League twice including the Treble and the Premier League 11 times in his career.

The midfield maestro had two very distinguishable trademarks to his game. An inability to tackle properly and an ability to score some absolutely beautiful strikes.

Scholes sat down with his former Manchester United teammate Gary Neville to watch some of the best goals from his history. Whilst Neville seems to adore absolutely every goal that goes in the scorer of them barely seems to raise an eyebrow for most of them:

In the most understated way Scholes describes the first strike saying, "Yeah I think it was nice goal that."

His description of an absolutely perfect finish into the top corner against Liverpool is met with, "Yeah, this was nice. You aren't aiming for a top corner, you're just hoping it goes on target"

And in typical fashion the former England international gives another former teammate, David Beckham, all the credit for one of his most famous strikes against Bradford saying, "It was a great ball and the next bit's lucky."

Throughout his career Scholes famously rarely sought the spotlight but it was often thrust upon him with some of the strikes from the video.

He retired in May 2011 for the first time before retiring in January the next year. He won one more title in 2013 before retiring on the same day as Sir Alex Ferguson.

When you can score goals like that and not care you probably don't care if you're better than Gerrard or Lampard either.
