David Seaman was at The Best FIFA Awards on Monday night and found himself heckled over the goal he conceded at the World Cup 16 years ago, naturally there was only one response for the former Arsenal keeper.

In the Premier League era David Seaman is one of the best goalkeepers to have graced the football pitch. Unfortunately for the three time English champion his whole career is pretty much remembered for his biggest failure.

Of course anyone connected with Arsenal will mainly remember him for his heroics down the years for the Gunners but those of an England or neutral persuasion will mainly recall his World Cup slip up.

In 2002 England were much fancied to go far in the competition but found themselves up against Brazil in the quarter finals. They went ahead through Michael Owen in the 25th minute and looked to be holding a half time lead.

During injury time of the first period the South Americans equalised through Rivaldo. Just five minutes into the second half the had a free kick around 40 yards out. To this day no one knows if Ronaldinho meant it but he floated the set piece over the head of Seaman, embarrassing the pony tailed beauty.

At FIFA's awards last night Seaman was on his way in when one fan shouted 'Ronaldinho, Ronaldinho' at him and the 55 year old only had one response, well played David:

Just seven minutes after his triumph in 2002 Ronaldinho was given his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card of the game.

Despite having the numerical advantage Sven Goran Eriksson's men couldn't get back in the game and the Three Lions were once again out of the World Cup.

I was in the school library watching and it was heartbreaking.

Brazil would of course go on to win the tournament in South Korea and Japan with Ronaldo's brace in the final enough to see off Germany, of course England would have won if it wasn't for Ronaldinho's fluke, right?

David Seaman might be one of England's best ever keepers but he'll have a lifetime of swearing at people for reminding him of his biggest failure.
