Some of the greatest boots of all time. Zidane was wearing them as he inspired France to win Euro 2000.

Zinedine Zidane might be the Real Madrid manager, looking after some of the best players on the planet, but at the turn of the century he was one of them. Guiding France to Euro 2000 glory in some of the nicest boots ever made.

The bald Frenchman had been influential in getting France to the World Cup final in their own country two years previous and then scored twice in the final that was clouded by the bizarre goings on with Ronaldo and Brazil.

Two years later when Euro 2000 rolled around 'Zizou' hadn't actually won anything for Juventus in the intervening years but he was even better in Belgium and Netherlands than he'd been in France.

Winning the Player of the Tournament award the midfielder took his team to the final where they beat Italy thanks to a Sylvian Wiltord equaliser in injury time and David Trezeguet's Golden Goal winner in extra time.

All that is leading up to the fact that Zidane, along with the likes of Trezeguet, David Beckham and Alessandro del Piero were playing in some of the most beautiful football boots ever created, Adidas Predator Precision which the company are relaunching and they're just as wonderful as ever:

The boots are available to buy online from today but it looks like they're already sold out. So the best chance of getting your hands on these worldies is when they hit selected retailers on Friday, just don't ask me which retailers they are.

The new boots are more lightweight than the original model 17 years ago, which means they're the same age as £10 million Dortmund signing Jadon Sancho, as is the way with boots these days.

They won't make you into Zidane of 2000 vintage but you can pretend at least!
