After arriving from the Ligue 1 outfit Rennes, the Bundesliga side handed Dembele the No.7 shirt, and the club have once again opted to hand over the jersey to a new signing.

Following Dembele's exit, Borussia Dortmund have named Jadon Sancho as the clubs new No.7.

Sancho completes his move from Manchester City after walking out on his scholarship deal at City last month, while turning down a professorial contract at the Etihad.

It's believed that Dortmund paid just £170,000. A potential bargain considering the talent and promise the 17-year-old possess.

Before penning a contract with Borussia Dortmund, Sancho was attracting interest from around the Premier League with the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United reportedly interested.

But City were hellbent on not letting him leave for a rival.

Speaking about the signing, via ESPN, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is delighted to acquire his services: "We are delighted that Jadon Sancho, currently one of the biggest talents in European football, by all means wants to and will play for BVB."

"We are convinced that we can help this still very young player to develop his game and be an asset for our team in the middle-term," he added.
