No one can be quite sure which Hatem ben Arfa is going to turn up from game to game, never mind season to season, but last night clearly the talented version of the Frenchman turned up with this strike.

For a player who has actually won five league titles in France, and not one of them with PSG, Ben Arfa isn't a player who you'd immediately think of when considering successful players.

Having won Ligue 1 four times with Lyon he moved to Marseille where he also won the league. Then came his spell in England which really saw the enigma at both his best and worst.

Clearly talented he shone for Newcastle United before his fall out with Alan Pardew which took him on loan to Hull where he only lasted till December when he went missing from the club.

A return to France with Nice last season saw him back to his best scoring 17 goals in 34 league games earning him a move to PSG which hasn't gone according to plan for him.

However last night he scored this wonderful curling strike to open the scoring for the capital side:

Last night PSG took another step towards what could be a cup double or potentially even a domestic treble when they beat Avranches 4-0 in the quarter final of the French cup.

The French champions beat Monaco last weekend to win the French league cup so the double is certainly on. They trail in the league but are just three points behind Monaco with eight games left to play.

Ben Arfa would have been hoping the move to PSG would really get his career back on the incredible tracks it might have been on if it wasn't for the lack of interest that has often blighted him but he has started just five league games this season.

What's next for Ben Arfa?
