Neymar scored a Champions League hat-trick against Red Star Belgrade as PSG ran riot at home in a 6-1 win. The Brazilian started and finished the trio of goals with brilliant free kicks that gave the goalkeeper no chance.

Other than the diving around on the floor and rolling around to try and win free kicks and get opponents in trouble the biggest criticism of Neymar is that he is too inconsistent and can only really turn it on against French 'farmers.'

Tonight he scored a hat-trick in the Champions League but, to be honest, I'm not sure it'll end the criticism considering the way that Red Star played tonight but they did have a good run going into the game.

It was an impressive night for Neymar, and PSG, but it's fair to say that it doesn't go any further to answering the critics and proving whether he can deliver Champions League success to the French captial.
