When Liverpool triggered Naby Keita's £48 million release clause earlier this week, many questioned whether Jurgen Klopp had spent wisely considering the midfielder will join the club in July 2018.

Well it hasn't taken long for the talented midfielder to show his capabilities.

The 22-year-old Guinean midfielder gave Liverpool fans a taste of what's to come with a spectacular solo goal during a World Cup qualifier against Libya on Thursday evening.

Keita powered through the Libya defence with a lung-bursting run before converting with a cool finish.

This type of composure in front of goal will certainly impress Liverpool fans, not to mention the skill to bamboozle the Libyans:

The 22-year-old central midfielder was instrumental in Leipzig's charge up the Bundesliga, last season, following their promotion to the German top flight, the season before.

The Bundesliga newcomers finished in second place, behind Bayern Munich, with Keita at the heart of their incredible campaign, scoring eight goals in 31 matches.

That record calls for a big shirt number at Liverpool and Keita will inherit the number eight shirt of Steven Gerrard upon his arrival in Merseyside, a number that has been vacant for the last two seasons since the legendary Liverpool captain's departure from Anfield, in 2015.

Back in July, According to the Mirror, Liverpool were prepared to make one final push to try and sign the midfielder from the German side with a bid believed to be in excess of £70 million.

The Premier League side twice had bids rejected for the 22 year old Guinean midfielder.

Leipzig have said they had no interest in selling the player but Liverpool's attempts to bring him clearly turned his head and Keita joined earlier this week for a club record fee, signing on a five-year deal.

Do you think Keita will produce the goods at Anfield next year?
