Marcus Rashford got Manchester United fans going with a brilliant goal in their pre season against Leeds United in Australia, in a 4-0 win for the Premier League side.

There isn't much excitement or optimism coming out of Old Trafford this summer ahead of next season, even with the signings of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka but maybe things are starting to look up.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United team are currently on tour in Australia and on Wednesday faced Leeds United. Marcus Rashford delighted fans with his brilliant goal.

United attacked on the counter with midfielder Scott McTominay bringing the ball forward past the halfway line in assured fashion.

The Scotsman found Rashford on the edge of the box who then made Gaetano Berardi look foolish by making him stumble with a change of direction, and then beating the keeper.

The Premier League club had gone 1-0 ahead earlier in the half. Aaron Wan-Bissaka's cross across goal was met by a late run from Mason Greenwood who knocked the ball in from yards out.

Rashford and Daniel James both hit the post in the first half as well but Championship Leeds did worry the Premier League side when they attacked.

In the second half Solskjaer made 11 changes but their dominance continued over Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Phil Jones added a third from a corner, following Andreas Pereira's long range shot that was tipped over the bar, and Anthony Martial made it four from the penalty spot, after Tahith Chong was brought down.

21-year-old striker Rashford had been subject to some speculation over his future earlier in the summer, with Barcelona reportedly interested in the England international.

The United academy product signed a new contract on July 1st, worth £200,000-per-week until 2023, ending any idea of him leaving Old Trafford.

United didn't have either David de Gea or Romelu Lukaku in the starting line up leading to some fears about the keeper's future.

Solskjaer soon quashed any rumours by revealing the Spaniard, who is expected to sign a new contract after the tour, was ill on Wednesday morning.

The manager also claimed Lukaku was injured but the Belgian has been heavily linked with a transfer out of the club to Inter this summer.

Who else will United sign before the season starts?
