PES 2018 Will Be Far Too Realistic For Arsene Wenger's Liking

Arsenal fans have turned against Arsene Wenger so much that they're even calling for his head in the virtual world - in the new version of Pro Evolution Soccer.

Anybody remotely familiar with the north London club will know the internal struggle that has engulfed the Gunners in recent seasons, with their manager often in the firing line.

Wenger came under severe pressure to leave at the end of last season, with various banners featuring the slogan 'Wenger Out' repeatedly appearing at the club's matches.

The Frenchman ended up staying and signing a new two-year contract, but if he thought that was the end of the 'Wenger Out' brigade then he better think again.

Japanese game makers Konami have just released PES 2018, and eagle-eyed players have spotted the banners appearing at the side of the pitch when playing as Arsenal - and Stan Kroenke also gets a mention:

There were plenty of annoyed Arsenal fans when Wenger decided to sign his new deal and many felt that he probably should have left the club after winning the FA Cup against Chelsea.

But those fans that had held marches against the manager decided that this season they would get behind the Frenchman. That resolve has already been tested with a loss against Stoke and a mauling at the hands of Liverpool.

Things actually got better for Arsenal at the weekend with a 0-0 draw against Chelsea. Sure it might not be the best result in the world but it's at a stadium where the Gunners famously have a bad time of things and rarely come out on top or even keep a clean sheet.

The problem for Wenger has really been the tarnishing of his legacy at the Emirates and his career in England has been split into two halves, the seasons of winning the Premier League and the years of relative failure, despite the recent FA Cups.

And now Wenger Out will live on forever in a game, sorry Wengs!
