How's he missed?

Gabriel Jesus has been a revelation since joining up with Manchester City in January, scoring seven goals and registering four assists in just 654 minutes of Premier League football, but he proved today that he is guilty of missing a sitter.

In the game between Brazil and Argentina, in front of 95,000 people at the world-famous Melbourne Cricket Ground, with Argentina leading 1-0 through Gabriel Mercado's close-range goal in the first half, Jesus had a glorious opportunity to level matters.

After being picked out by his international and club colleague Fernandinho, who served up an inch-perfect defence-splitting pass, the former Palmeiras youngster rounded goalkeeper Sergio Romero and was presented with more or less an open goal, but somehow managed to hit the post.

Even if the angle is slightly acute and off balance, but you'd bet your house on Jesus slotting home chances like the above. He's had a nightmare, and it's one of the worst misses you'll have seen in recent times.

If one strike of the post wasn't enough though, Chelsea midfielder Willian was quickest to react on the follow-up, but he also saw his effort cannon against the post.

Argentina would hold on win 1-0, but they were well and truly let off the hook there.

Here's how Twitter reacted to THAT Jesus miss:

If you've missed a few glaring chances at Sunday League level, Jesus' gaffe gives you a sense of optimism - knowing that even the very best are guilty of it.

As for Jesus, his day got worse as he was forced off after being caught with an elbow from City teammate Nicolas Otamendi.
