Dani Alves' return to the Camp Nou was an emotional one. The Brazilian returned to the club where he enjoyed a trophy-laden career as a Juventus player, ultimately knocking out his former side in the Champions League.

And in the process breaking the heart of his pal and fellow compatriot, Neymar.

Before the second-leg meeting, Alves returned to the ground by planting a kiss on the lush green grass, and even messed about prior to kick-off, greeting his old friends in typical Alves fashion.

Classic, Alves!

He also made the headlines after his classy gesture towards Neymar. Instead of celebrating with his teammate, Alves comforted the Barcelona attacker.

And the ex-Catalan man has revealed what he said to Neymar while consoling him.

"I told him that this is football, that's just the way it is." Alves told reporters post-match.

"I already told him that I didn't want to take on Barcelona for all that we had gone through together, but that in these situations you have to leave feelings aside."

"Everyone defended their club colours and Neymar needn't be sad. It's just a defeat and he has to move on."

Nice touch, Alves.

Meanwhile, Juventus advance into the semi-finals alongside Spanish pair Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid with AS Monaco rounding off the final four.
