Throwback To Sky Sports Getting Duped By A Hilarious Fake Transfer Story

What a time to be alive...

No matter how manic transfer deadline day continues to get, and it's already promising to be a very, very busy end to a mental window of transfers, nothing will come close to the time that Sky Sports fell for a fake transfer story.

In a world where you can find streams for the most random of football matches in the most obscure places on earth and 100s of articles on players to sign when the latest FM and FIFA come out it's easy to be complacent when it comes to players you've never heard of.

However, Sky Sports proved that if you come across the name of a player you've never heard of it's probably best just to give him a quick 'Google'.

The company known for their extensive transfer deadline day coverage should have known better than to announce Aberdeen's signing whose name is rather suspicious:

Yer Da Sells Avon doesn't get more peak Scottish twitter.

Thanks Sky for the most beautiful mistake you're likely to make! We're really, really hoping that a fake transfer story on the same level as Yerdas Selzavon's big move to the Dons comes about at some point today.

It'll be much bigger than Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain signing for Liverpool, Alexis Sanchez potentially moving to Manchester City, or any of the other big deals that could take place before the 11pm deadline.

You never know, maybe 'Selzavon' may be on the move himself after not seeing much game-time in his six months spell at Aberdeen...
