Mats Hummels Has Dyed His Hair Blonde Because He Lost A Ridiculous Bet

Can somebody tell me why more and more footballers are sporting the blonde look nowadays?

From Lionel Messi to Samir Nasri, we've seen some pretty spectacular hair pieces in the past 12 months but Mats Hummels has surpassed everyone with this magnificent mop.

Hummels didn't give any indication that his hair was blonde before last night's tie against RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena, and a lot of people were surprised when he sported the blonde bombshell look.

It has now been revealed that Hummels dyed his hair because he lost a bet at Oktoberfest.

Hummels spoke about the bet to German publication BILD after the game:

"After one throw, my opponent had already knocked over more than I had in my three attempts. It was a disaster for me. I was afraid it would look worse. In the right light it looks good, but sometimes it takes some getting used to."

"She [Hummels' wife, Cathy] also feared that it would look much worse. [But] it will grow out in a few weeks, so we will survive."

Bayern eventually triumphed over Leipzig with a comfortable 3-0 win, with goals from Thiago Alcantara, Robert Lewandowski.and Xabi Alonso sealing the victory.

But Hummels' hair didn't go down well...
