Well played to the Portuguese midfielder

Whether it's a non league footballer called Mambo, a striker with the number three or a centre back with the number 10 on his back we're obsessed with squad numbers and Adrien Silva's is one we absolutely love.

Adrien Silva made his Leicester City debut yesterday against Huddersfield Town as a late substitute, just four months after he probably should have had his first appearance in the Premier League.

The Portuguese midfielder was supposed to be a late deadline deal for Leicester as the Foxes looked to replace Danny Drinkwater, who moved to Chelsea. Unfortunately his move was so last minute that it didn't go through till 14 seconds after the deadline.

As such FIFA decided the deal wasn't done but the paperwork to take him from Sporting was done so he was kind of left in limbo till the former Premier League champs could register him on January 1st.

So on New Year's Day he reminded us all of his existence by being a sub for Claude Puel's side against the Terriers and his choice of shirt number couldn't have been a coincidence as he's got the number 14!

The move for the 28 year old was completed on New Year's Day with the Premier League giving him special permission to play on the same day.

For Sporting he used to wear the number 23 shirt, which he also adorns for the national team, but with it being taken at the King Power Stadium he decided to have a dig at FIFA with the number 14 shirt.

It's hard not to love that!
