'He played in a reserve team game the other day, and I could have run about more than he did.'

Harry Redknapp is a straight to the point, honest bloke and that's why we love him.

He's produced some absolute cracking interviews in the past few years but one in particular stands out from the rest.

Back in 2014, Harry was in charge at a struggling Queens Park Rangers as they faced the very real prospect of Premier League relegation. Redknapp was clearly frustrated with a string of poor results and let a certain member of the squad know about his efforts.

In a post-match press conference after a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool, Redknapp absolutely ripped into Adel Taarabt with some cut-throat remarks.

As well as questioning the midfielder's willingness to show he deserves his '60 to 70 grand-a-week' wages, Harry challenged the player's work ethic, stating that he was '3 stone overweight'.

Redknapp did not hold back in the slightest.

'He played in a reserve team game the other day, and I could have run about more than he did'.

Here's that legendary Taarabt rant from 2014:

In the same season, Shaun Wright-Phillips had only played 78 minutes of football and Redknapp was again clear about his opinion of the player. claiming that he has refused to leave QPR because he is happy sitting on a 'fantastic' contract.

SWP was earning around £65,000 per week at QPR, so was it any wonder Harry was unhappy with his wage situation.

'We've offered Shaun the chance to go out on loan, but he's not wanted to go. I think he needs to move on and play - I've told him that many times.'

Another classic press conference:

Let's hope Harry produces more of these brilliantly honest press conferences during his time at Birmingham City.

What a guy.
