Jürgen Klopp has capped off 2018 with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

The Reds have opened a nine-point lead after their 5-1 thrashing of Arsenal at Anfield, with Roberto Firmino scoring a hat-trick.

So, when BBC Sport's Juliette Ferrington asked the 51-year-old German to sum up his 2018, the former Borussia Dortmund manager had a witty -- and honest -- response to the question.

"A fantastic, fantastic year apart from one really s*** day..." he said.

Brilliant stuff from the Liverpool boss!

Unai Emery's side took an early lead against the Reds thanks to Ainsley Maitland-Niles, but Liverpool outclassed them for the rest of the match.

The Gunners boss substituted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the second half for Alexandre Lacazette. The 29-year-old former Borussia Dortmund star's stats highlight his poor performance on the pitch.

After the match, Klopp was very happy with how the scoreline turned out.

"It's clear it was a wide game," he told BBC Sport.

"We were really good and did exactly what we wanted to do. We wanted to press them and cut off their build-up. They pressed us as well so it was wild. But then when you get the ball you need to calm down.

"The response was world class. We knew in the second half that the game wasn't finished, so we wanted to control it. Mo Salah gave the penalty to Bobby and I almost cried because we all know how much Mo wants to score goals. It was really nice.

"Overall, 5-1 against Arsenal doesn't happen too often, so I'm really happy with the boys. In 2018, I have nothing to moan about."

Will Liverpool win the Premier League title?
