Mo Salah has the footballing world at his feet at the moment but no matter how many balls he puts in the top corner at Anfield, he still can't understand a word Jon Flanagan says.

The Egyptian winger scored his 20th goal in all competitions for Liverpool in yesterday's 4-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, making the £35 million fee paid to Roma for his services in the summer look positively paltry.

But whilst he looks incredible on the football pitch, it's a different story in the dressing room, with the Scouse accent still getting the better of the 25-year-old.

Speaking in an interview with the club's website the former Chelsea flop revealed that he can understand the local accent but only just and that one of his teammates makes it impossible to understand, saying:

"I understand Scouse, I think, but it's very difficult... very difficult! The accent is so hard to understand. Flanno's [Jon Flanagan] accent is the worst one - I cannot understand anything from him.

"The way he is talking is like he's not talking normally!"

The Red's third most expensive signing, according to Transfermarkt, is loving life at Anfield and praised the fans on the Kop for making him feel welcome since his summer move, adding:

"I am happy when the fans sing my name. I can hear them on the pitch and it makes me happy. It makes you feel like, 'wow'. It changes your emotions. I have to thank the fans very much for singing my name.

"Really, I respect it a lot. It's a big thing for me - to have been here for a few months, but to have the fans singing my name every game, showing me love and respect, it means a lot to me."

Iin all fairness to Salah, there's probably a lot of people on Merseyside who have absolutely no idea what Jon Flanagan is saying half the time, so he probably shouldn't worry too much about it.
