Back in the summer there's no way any one in Liverpool could have guessed just how much they end up loving Mohamed Salah. Now the Egyptian is ingratiating himself into their hearts off the pitch too.

When Mo Salah traded Rome for Liverpool in the summer he was yet another player returning to the Premier League after not making it at Chelsea just a short time previously, following the road taken by Kevin de Bruyne.

Of course there wasn't any of the doubts that followed the Belgian back to England a year previously and everyone accepted that he'd improved during his time in Serie A, but no one was expected him to have scored 22 Premier League goals before March.

The Egyptian has become an instant hero at Anfield understandably but it looks like in the last 24 hours he's becoming a hero of the city of Liverpool too.

The 25 year old was on form on Tuesday scoring and running the show as Liverpool beat Porto 5-0 away in the Champions League second round, virtually guaranteeing their involvement in the quarter finals.

The Reds are back in Premier League action this weekend against West Ham as Jurgen Klopp's side continue to try and qualify for next season's premier European club competition.

Salah is only going to get cheered even more after making himself a man of the people, who doesn't love a chippy tea after all.
