Just over a week ago, in a shock turn of events, news emerged that Cristiano Ronaldo has informed Los Blancos he wants to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

The news stems from the ongoing lawsuit from Spanish prosecutors, who claim Ronaldo defrauded the authorities of €14.7 million in a three-year period between 2011 and 2014 in relation to his image rights.

Ronaldo's decision is said to be "irreversible", though if we're being completely honest, chances are that he's not going to leave Real at all.

But you have to applaud a few clubs for at least trying to lure him to their club.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, Ronaldo's former employers, are the two clubs to have been linked following on from the news but the offer from Hertha Berlin on Twitter was by far the best:
That is until Irish side Shountrade AFC, based in Limerick, put forward their case.

The club put together a lengthy message to the four-time Ballon d'Or winner and it's absolutely brilliant.

Surely Ronaldo will only want to leave Real Madrid even more after hearing of the 21 days annual leave, the state of the art bucket and brillo pad for boot washing, and the fact he'd have the privileged opportunity to play in the star-studded West Limerick Junior Desmond League Soccer Division 2?

I think it's safe to say Shoundtrade are now the firm favourites for Ronaldo's signature...
