Bayern Munich were up to their old tricks on social media during their semi-final encounter with Borussia Dortmund. But, this time, it seriously backfired.

The German giants were pitted against each other for a spot in the DFB Pokal Cup FInal opposite Eintracht Frankfurt.

With the Allianz Arena playing host to a thrilling game which ultimately saw Thomas Tuchel's side secure passage to the final.

Dortmund ran out 3-2 winners at Bayern, though they were made to work. Marco Reus opened the scoring before Javi Martinez drew level.

And moments before the interval, Dortmund old boy Mats Hummels put his side into the lead going into half-time.

To which Bayern posted a Tweet poking fun of their counterparts by uploading a GIF of a cat, dressed in yellow and black, falling off a chair.

Oops.

Moral of the story, don't post until the game is finished!

Their usual banter on social media came back to bite them in the ass, as the visitors staged a resilient comeback courtesy of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and a wonderful goal from Ousmane Dembele.

The Frenchman fired Dortmund into the final with a lovely, and composed finish, finding the top corner after selling David Alaba with a naughty dummy.

Enjoy his brilliance from another angle.
