Some Arsenal fans will never forgive Ashley Cole for leaving them to head to Chelsea. Case in point this unprovoked dig from a supposed Gunners fan.

But while Twitter user, Jordan, dished out some abuse on Twitter, the former Premier League defender was in no mood to ignore it.

After enjoying a trophy-laden career at Arsenal, he completed a move to cross-town rivals Chelsea which including an infamous contract incident.

Despite winning the league, Cole's time at Arsenal will probably be remembered for that time he "nearly crashed his car" after having contract talks with the board.

He had a £55,000-a-week contract on the table before sealing a switch to Chelsea. And it appears that remains etched into some Arsenal fans memories.

Now plying his trade in the States with LA Galaxy, Cole bit back after a fan brought up the contract dispute.

Jordan posted the following message to Cole,"Mate, the average uk workers earn 20k a year but you don't see them being whiny about it, you got offer 55k a WEEK!"

Cole refused to let the message slide who replied.
