What is it with Chelsea and dodgy bets?

Yesterday we brought you a story on a fan putting £100 on Chelsea winning the Premier League title AFTER Antonio Conte's side wrapped up the league with win at West Brom on Friday.

Diego Costa going for a half-time snack in the press area last night is the greatest thing ever:

He thought he'd found a mistake by SkyBet and was going to make easy money, but it turned out he was the one making the error, not realising that their 3/1 offer on Chelsea to win the league was for the 2017/18 season and not the 2016/17 campaign we're coming to the end of.

As can be seen from the exchange with his friend, Cameron Powell noticed the offer online and decided to get on it quick as he thought it was a mistake.

He asks his pal Joe if Chelsea have won the league - appealing for the conviction he needed to put the bet on.

But he quickly realised it was an error and the text conversation is a brilliant summary of how things went down:

And there's been another betting calamity related to Chelsea, following their 4-3 win over Watford last night.

If we're being honest, no-one expected a classic encounter between the new champions and the lowly Hornets, but it actually turned out to be a cracking seven-goal thriller.

Football tipster @365Profit decided the go-to bet for Chelsea-Watford was 'Under 6.5 Goals' at Stamford Bridge at odds of 1/25. They stuck £102.79 on it and if the bet was successful, the punter would be £4.11 richer.

The unexpected goal-fest at Stamford Bridge meant that the bet didn't even come in, and that sent the bet viral on Twitter, where it's amassed nearly 4,000 Retweets.

Some people have been calling it 'the worst bet they've ever seen', and though more substantial amounts of cash have inevitably been lost over the year, they've had a nightmare here.

Check out some of the best reactions to the bet on Twitter:

Something tells us not many people will be following their tips after this blunder...
