Gonzalo Higuain has apologised following his sending off against Juventus. The forward, on loan from the Old Lady, got two quick yellow cards but has apologised for his behaviour on social media.

In his two season at Juventus there must have been several time when Gonzalo Higuain was his team's saviour and the reason for plenty of wins, he did score 55 goals in two seasons after all in two Serie A title wins.

What Higuain probably wasn't expecting was being the Man of the Match for Juventus after he left the club. That might be a little unfair but he did fail to score a penalty and get sent off in the game on Sunday for AC Milan.

At 1-0 down Higuain's spot kick was tipped onto the post and with the game at 2-0 and heading for a defeat the former Real Madrid forward got sent off for two quick yellow cards and was seen to have lost his head, arguing with the referee and opposition players.

The 30 year old has now taken to social media to apologise. Posting on Instagram Higuain said:

"I want to apologise to everyone for the behaviour of yesterday's expulsion, the team, society, fans who despite yesterday showed me their love all the time.

"We are people too and we have feelings but I am responsible and I hope it does not happen again.

"Some will understand it, others will not. I also apologize to all. Have a nice life."

The former Napoli man was replaced in Turin in the summer by Cristiano Ronaldo and the five time Ballon d'Or winner was seen talking to Higuain after the sending off.

Following the match Ronaldo revealed what he'd said to his fellow striker saying, "I told him to calm down, as he risked an even heavier ban.

"He didn't do much, he was irritable at losing the game, that's understandable and I hope he is not punished too severely."

Higuain will definitely have better days at the San Siro.
