Ruben Loftus-Cheek was one of England's standout performers at the World Cup this summer, but he's still surplus to requirements at Chelsea.

The Premier League prodigy has been in the Chelsea ranks for some time, and was at Crystal Palace last season on loan.

Many have said that the young attacker should look at his options and move on to greener pastures - and now it looks as though he'll get his chance.

Despite this, the manager, just a couple of days ago, said Maurizio Sarri.

"I have spoken with him twice this week, after I spoke with the club, so I think that Loftus-Cheek will remain with us."

"We can speak again about his situation, but only in December. My decision not to name him on the bench was only about positions. I chose to put two wingers and only one midfielder on the bench.

'I am not able to promise anything to anybody. It's up to him. It's not tough for me keep players happy. For me, it's very easy. I have only to look at the training and then I decide on the squad. I have told the team that, this month, they have to be patient because we play only once a week.

'But starting from September, we play three games a week, so there will be space for everybody.

Ligue 1 side Monaco are assessing whether to bring in Loftus-Cheek on loan for the season.

The French side are hoping to challenge the mighty champions Paris Saint-Germain, and improve on their semi-final finish from a couple of seasons ago.
