Zlatan Ibrahimovic reveals why he's not married to partner of over 20 years after having two children together

Zlatan Ibrahimovic reveals why he's not married to partner of over 20 years after having two children together

Zlatan has revealed all.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed why he is not married to his partner, despite the pair being together for over 20 years and having two children.

The former PSG, AC Milan and Manchester United star was speaking in an interview with Piers Morgan as part of the broadcaster's 'Piers Morgan Uncensored' series on TalkTV.

Among the topics covered in the interview were the Swede's time at Old Trafford, his thoughts on current United boss Erik ten Hag and a look back at his illustrious and legendary career.

Ibrahimovic also spoke about controversial moments in his career, his relationship with Jose Mourinho and spoke about other sporting legends such as Novak Djokovic and Muhammad Ali.

There was also a section on Zlatan's childhood and personal life - and Morgan brought up his relationship with partner Helena Seger.

The pair have been together since 2002, and she once revealed to the Elle magazine that they first met when she confronted him about his car parking.

They have two sons together, including Maximilian, 17, who is currently part of Milan's youth setup.

Despite being together for such a long period of time, they have never married - and Zlatan gave a typically matter-of-fact response when probed by Morgan during the interview.

He explained: "I have [proposed to her]. She said no. This was a couple of years ago.

"I said, after 20 years, you deserve to be married with me. She said, 'No, I don't need to be married with you, to be with you'. She is strong, very strong.

"I think it's cool because if you do that, you gain more respect from me, because I don't have to win all the time."

When asked whether he would propose to his partner again, Ibrahimovic responded: "No. She had one chance, she will not get a second chance.

"But she has two boys from me, so that's even bigger than being married."

When asked about why they had not got married by Elle magazine, Helena stated: "Getting married could disturb my sense of independence. I don't want to be labelled simply as the wife of a player, or the winner of a beauty contest.

"I think people don't know how much I have studied, worked and fought."
