Harry Kane 'offered huge contract to join another club' in latest twist to transfer saga

Harry Kane 'offered huge contract to join another club' in latest twist to transfer saga

A major twist.

A third club have offered Tottenham star Harry Kane a huge contract to join them as a free agent next summer, according to a new report.

Bayern Munich are locked in negotiations with Kane over a move to Allianz Arena this summer, having seen a €100 million (£86.4 million) bid accepted by Tottenham.

Sky Sports News, however, claimed earlier on Thursday that the 30-year-old was 'increasingly likely' to stay at Spurs despite overtures from the current Bundesliga champions.

No official decision has yet been announced by Kane, who is out of contract at Spurs next summer.

Now, a third team has entered the race with a significant pre-contract offer, it has been claimed.

Harry Kane 'offered contract by third club'

According to German outlet Bild, a third club has offered Kane a contract to join them - but the move would take place next summer on a free transfer.

It is claimed that the contract offered is 'significantly better' than the one offered by Bayern Munich, and that the club have come in 'at short notice' to enter the race for England's record goalscorer.

At this stage, the club is unnamed, although Manchester United are among the clubs to have been linked with Kane.

According to The Guardian, United pulled out of the race to sign this summer due to the exorbitant transfer demands issued by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

It would perhaps make more sense, therefore, for Erik ten Hag's side to try their luck next summer, when they can sign Kane on a free transfer when his Spurs contract expires.

Signing a new deal at Tottenham, meanwhile, is not out of the question, and a positive start to the campaign under new boss Ange Postecoglou could convince the 30-year-old to stay and attempt to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goalscoring record.
