Team confirms it has not received an invitation to the new European Super League

Serie C side Pescara have revealed that they have not been invited to the European Super League.

A Serie C side have released a hilarious statement in response to the proposed European Super League.

The European Court of Justice ruled that UEFA and FIFA acted against competition law by blocking the formation of the European Super League in 2021.

A22 Sports Management, the company beyond the ambitious project, unveiled their new format proposal in a livestream.

A slew of teams across Europe's top five leagues have distanced themselves from the ESL.

Manchester United were one of the first clubs to make their feelings clear as they backed UEFA.

The club's statement read: "Our position has not changed. We remain fully committed to participation in UEFA competitions, and to positive cooperation with UEFA, the Premier League, and fellow clubs through the ECA on the continued development of the European game."

Manchester City shared the same sentiment as their cross-town rivals while the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid also ruled out joining the ESL.

But one club won't be releasing a lengthy statement in response to the ESL.

Pescara, who are in the third tier of Italian football, have revealed that they did not receive an invitation to join the project, stating they won't be sharing a comment on the matter.

On X, the club wrote: "Pescara Calcio announces that, having not received any invitation to #Superlega, it will not make any statements on the matter."

Spanish sides Barcelona and Real Madrid are the two big driving forces behind plans to revive the ESL.

UEFA put out a statement, too, as they insisted on its resoluteness to 'uphold the European football pyramid'.

The statement read: "UEFA remains resolute in its commitment to uphold the European football pyramid, ensuring that it continues to serve the broader interests of society.

"We will continue to shape the European sports model collectively with national associations, leagues, clubs, fans, players, coaches, EU institutions, governments and partners alike."
