Erik ten Hag has 'full meltdown' in press conference following Coventry City 'embarrassment'

Ten Hag was furious with reporters.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag lost it with reporters following being questioned on his sides FA Cup semi-final performance against Coventry City at Wembley.

Despite reaching back-to-back FA Cup finals, United had a forgettable afternoon as they squandered a 3-0 lead against Championship side Coventry City in the final 20 minutes of the match.

The dramatic turnaround almost led to disaster for Ten Hag's team, as Coventry believed they had scored a 120th-minute winner in extra time, however, their goal was disallowed after a VAR review deemed it offside.

The heartbreaking VAR decision meant the match was decided on penalties, where United's experience and composure proved decisive, booking their place alongside City in the final.

Following the game, United have come under great scrutiny despite winning the game, and Ten Hag demonstrated his anger at the criticism during his press conference ahead of United's clash with Sheffield United.

"No. Absolutely not. You made enough and one the question: "is it embarrassing? No, the reaction from you was embarrassing. It is the comments." The Dutchman stated forcefully via the MEN.

"Top football is about results, we made it to a final and we deserved it not only by this game but also the other games. We lost control for 20 mins, we also had bad luck, 3-2, 3-3. We were very lucky in the end, clear.

Penalties was very good and we made it to the final, it is a huge achievement. Twice, in two years- is magnificent. For me as a manager, four cup final in four years. The comments are a disgrace," He added.

Ten Hag also provided an update on United's never ending injury list after a strenuous 120 minutes at the weekend.

"We had a problem with Alejandro Garnacho, that's why we took him off during the game but I think he will be fine. Scott McTominay we have to assess today, really doubtful," Ten Hag said.

The United boss also confirmed issues regarding the fitness of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

"Marcus Rashford is also doubtful and there was also an issue with Bruno Fernandes with the hand but I think he can make it. We have some doubts going into the game tomorrow," He confirmed.
