Alejandro Garnacho's immediate reaction on the pitch to Manchester United's defeat against Galatasaray sums up the dire state of the club right now.

The Red Devils' misery in the Champions League continued on Tuesday as they suffered a crushing 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford.

Former No.1 David de Gea trended on social media following the result, with Man United fans outraged at how Galatasaray fans got in the home end.

They sit at the bottom of Group A, having failed to win any of their opening two games against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

It's looking bleak for Erik ten Hag's side, with Man United losing a whopping five games across all competitions since the start of last month.

And Garnacho, who made a substitute appearance last night, cut a hugely dejected figure after the final whistle, which sums up the club's current state.

He laid on the floor with his hands on his head, with Anthony Martial lifting him back to his feet.

The 19-year-old, though, didn't move from his spot as he cut a disconsolate figure as Raphael Varane tried to console him.

Pressure is mounting on Ten Hag, who has already lost six games this season.

Asked whether he feared for his job, he replied: "Last season: brilliant, terrific, more than we could expect.

"We also knew in this project there would be common gaps. At this moment we are in a very difficult period as everyone can see but we come out together, we are fighting together, we are sticking together and we are behind each other. That is me, the directors, the team, all together we will fight.

"This is not us, we know we have to do better, with togetherness we will come out," added the Dutchman.

"If I give an explanation, then you will see as excuses, there are no excuses.

"We can't make the errors we are now making. We have to do better, it is a simple fact, we have to win our games."

Man United, who occupy 10th place in the Premier League, resume their faltering campaign at home to Brentford on Saturday.
