Liverpool fans are all saying the same thing amid reports the Saudi Pro League are set to recruit the Premier League’s top referees.

The Saudi Pro League made headlines this summer after it recruited the game’s biggest names, including Neymar, Karim Benzema, Jordan Henderson, and Ruben Neves.

Moreover, big-money deals have also lured a spate of managers to the league such as Nuno Espirito Santo, who joined Al-Ittihad, and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who is Al-Ettifaq's boss.

And as per the Times, Premier League referees are being sounded out for a potential move to Saudi Arabia. At present, international referees have been used by the Pro League for exceptional matches.

However, it is now thought that the burgeoning division is offering season-long contracts for top officials in a move which could cause alarm for leagues in Europe.

A Premier League referee can earn in the region of £120,000 to £300,000 at the top of the game, but the Saudi league has the resources to offer a substantial increase in wages.

Upon the Times’ report, Liverpool fans are all jokingly calling for Anthony Taylor and Paul Tierney to move to the Saudi Pro League.

One person Reds supporter said on X, the social media platform formally known as Twitter: “Hand on heart, the best referees in the country are Anthony Taylor and Paul Tierney.”

Another said: “You can have all our referees for free.”

In a similar vein, a third wrote: “Take Paul Tierney and Anthony Taylor for free.”

A fourth Liverpool supporter said: “In that case…Anthony Taylor and Paul Tierney are the best in England by a mile…”
