Liverpool fans mock Richard Keys over Mohamed Salah Al Ittihad tweet

Liverpool fans mock Richard Keys over Mohamed Salah Al Ittihad tweet

Mohamed Salah was linked with a move to Saudi Professional League side Al Ittihad

Liverpool fans have mocked Richard Keys over his tweet on Mohamed Salah’s Al Ittihad links.

Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Liverpool were rocked by the news that Saudi Professional League side Al Ittihad were seriously interested in signing Salah.

Despite Reds boss Jurgen Klopp publicly declaring that Salah was not for sale, the rumours refused to go away.

Al Ittihad ended up having a bid worth a reported £150 million rebuffed by the Anfield club.

During the saga, TV presenter Keys took to social media to claim that the deal to take Salah to Al Ittihad was done.

He wrote: “I’m always happy to open for apologies. Those that abused me as usual - message now. Mighty @beINSPORTS_EN were spot on when I said Salah might be playing his last game at Newcastle.

“It’ll be v Villa now. The deal will get done next week. There’s no need to rush it though today.”

However, Salah did not go to Al Ittihad as the Saudi transfer window closed on Thursday.

Liverpool fans were quick to mock Keys on Friday morning.

One said: “Thoughts and Prayers with you today @richardajkeys. We openly await your apology.”

Another tweeted: “Bro thought he got the inside scoop.”

A third fan added: “That's strange, I thought the deal was meant to go through this week? Salah doesn't look like he's joined the Saudi Pro League now, has he? Seems like the mighty beINSPORTS_EN weren't very spot on at all. Far from it. You can try again next year.”

Someone else wrote: “Apologies if the reality is too painful for you to take.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Looooooooooooooooooool anti Liverpool Richard Keys yet again.”

Despite Liverpool refusing to sell Salah, it has been reported that Al Ittihad feel they can still lure the Egyptian to the Middle East and will reignite their interest in future transfer windows.
