One of Harry Kane's children could be eligible to play for Germany after Bayern Munich transfer

One of Harry Kane's children could be eligible to play for Germany after Bayern Munich transfer

Harry Kane's wife, Kate, is due to give birth and it could take place in Munich.

Harry Kane's new baby could be born in Munich and eligible to represent Germany.

The 30-year-old moved to Bayern Munich from Tottenham in a transfer worth up to £100 million as he made a nightmare start to life in Germany.

His new side suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the DFL Supercup last Saturday, failing to win the first trophy of his career.

Following Bayern's defeat to Leipzig, Kane spoke to the media in his official unveiling, where he was joined by pregnant wife Kate and their three young kids, Ivy, Vivienne and Louis.

Kate is due to give birth as she was seen cradling her bump yesterday.

And the birth of their fourth child could take place in Germany as sources claim she scouted homes and hospitals in Munich last month, according to The Sun.

He or she would then be eligible to hold dual nationality and could choose to play for England or Germany.

A source said: "Kate flew out to Munich to do a recce at the end of last month as the deal got closer.

"They knew that if it got over the line they’d need to be able to relocate very quickly.

"Kate looked at homes but also visited a couple of private hospitals.

"It’s unlikely Harry will be able to simply fly back to England for the birth and he won’t want to miss it.

"So, Munich is a very real possibility and they have to be prepared for that."

The Federal Foreign Office states a child born in Germany can gain citizenship even if both parents are English.

But one of the parents must have an unlimited resident permit for at least three years, which the star forward qualifies for as he has penned a four-year contract at Bayern.

The Three Lions captain appears set to make his Bundesliga debut on Friday when Bayern open their league campaign at Werder Bremen.
