What Julen Lopetegui Has Asked The Real Madrid President To Do Might Upset Los Blancos Supporters

This is a very odd thing for the Real Madrid manager to want.

Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui has come to the club as a largely unknown quantity.

And he's already in the difficult position of having to continue on from Zinedine Zidane, a man who won consecutive Champions League trophies.

Management is all about dealing with trouble that arises, and Lopetegui will surely struggle helping the side transition without their star player Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the club to Juventus for a fee reported to be around £100 million.

The Portugal international has gone on to greener pastures, and so Real Madrid will have to brace themselves and just hope they're able to compete at the highest level with their new boss.

Only trouble might be around the corner, as the new boss has told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to put his faith into Borja Mayoral. This is according to Spanish publication AS.

Lopetegui is very satisfied with what he says and can see no reason to bring in another player in that position.

It's an odd thing for a manager to say to a president. Maybe the former Spain boss wants to test his mettle without having the added luxury of loads and loads of cash to spend. Either that, or he just has lots of faith in his current set-up and believes that they can do just fine without any additions in attack. It's your call, Lopetegui, but it's a brave move on your half. Let's just hope it pays off.

Do you think he's making the right call? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
