Cristiano Ronaldo's meeting with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez concluded and now the star has edged closer to a move to Juventus.

Marca reported that Ronaldo would be moving to the Italian club and that showdown talks would be held between the attacker and Perez.

And now those talks have taken place, the report as per the Spanish publication reads: "A potential salary increase was hardly even addressed and this, in the eyes of the player's entourage, was the final piece of proof that his only option is to leave.

"His mind is now focussed on Juventus, where he'll play for the next four seasons.

"During the meeting, the manner of Ronaldo's exit was also discussed, with both the club and the player wanting the farewell to be positive and civil."

Indeed, the former Manchester United winger had made similar noises of discontent this time last year, but he eventually stayed with the club, and won his fifth Champions League title there.

Now with stories of a departure happening again, many don't believe it's true.

But with the amount of reports there are, and the level in which they suggest the deal has progressed to, it's hard to look past the idea that this time, it's actually happening, and Ronaldo will be playing football for the Serie A champions next season, on a four year contract, in a transfer worth 100 million euros.

Perez did not want a saga to drag through the summer and affect the club's chances next season, especially with them going through a transition of having a new manager. Julen Lopetegui came in to replace Los Blancos legend Zinedine Zidane, who unexpectedly left,

It is thought that the reason the 33-year-old Ronaldo now wants to leave is because he feels 'unloved', nothing to do with money.
